Special thanks

Today, I had a chance to meet a very special woman. Kristen Foard from Ameriquest Mortgage Company came to St Mary’s along with a film production crew. Her employer was recognizing Kristen as a role model for exemplary community service. The production company was filming a piece to be used in their internal recognition program. The story begins with the Girl Scout troop Kristen works with that also includes her daughters. During this year’s annual Girl Scout cookie sale, she went to her company to solicit help in selling more cookies that could ultimately be donated to St Mary’s through our "Mmmmmmilk & Cookies" program. She and her troop set an initial goal of selling somewhere around 100 boxes. The program was so well received by the folks at Ameriquest, that they ended up selling over 1,800 boxes that were then donated to the food bank. Kristen’s effort not only benefited the Girl Scouts but also represented almost 15% of the total boxes of cookies donated St Mary’s for the program. Kristen is not only a role model in her company, but is one that should be duplicated in many others. Thanks Kristen for going well beyond the norm to help make our community a better place.

Terry,
Thank you so much for recognizing my oldest sister's tireless efforts. I have looked up to her and all the amazing things she has accomplished for as long as I can remember. Thank you again for letting your readers know what Kristin has done through your program. Maybe this will open some doors for the community to lend a helping hand.
